Enjoy our published books that we made using Blurb. Now you don't have to be at my house to enjoy our entire book. I can publish it all online. If you have a slower Internet connection just let this page load for a while and then start browsing our books. It will start to load from the top book and go from there. ENJOY!
Year 2011 was one of change. We had a lot of changes, some good and some not so good. We are very blessed to have a beautiful family and live in a beautiful part of Southern California, Portola Hills. Our books focus on happy memories - and we have a lot to remember.
Brace still works as a Sales
Manager for ARS, the largest HVAC (that means heating and air conditioning)
company in Orange County. He is the Executive Secretary for our Bishop, Dan Schoessow. He continues to go on motorcycle rides and ocassionally takes me. He sang more than once with Possum Creek Blue Grass at the Orange County Fair as their lead singer. Visit our family YouTube channel (OCLakeFamily) to hear him entertain the crowd.
I, Karen, still teach voice lessons. and enjoy being home full-time. I started bicycling this year and recently got a bike of my own rather than using my girl's bikes. My goal is to use the bike trail to bike all the way to Salt Creek beach in 2012.
Karstin (age 20) is a Junior in the classical piano performance program at BYU. She was called as Relief Society President in the Fall. She teaches several students piano lessons through video chat at our house. Some of her students perform at our voice recitals. She keeps in touch with us often. Visit our YouTube channel to hear part of her April 2011 piano recital.
Savannah (19) attended BYU for winter semester 2011 studying theater. She has decided to take a break from school and is currently living with her grandparents in Colorado. She works as a waitress at an old folk's home, is active on Facebook and spends her time testing the Pottermore beta site. Savannah has a new cell phone number now that she lives in Colorado.
Penelope (13) is in 8th grade at the Orange County High
School for the Arts and was accepted into the Classical Voice program. She was chosen to be the Assistant Director for the opera and is elated at the opportunity. You can see her opera blog by clicking on this link. She is playing the piano for the young women in her church group, so that keeps her motivated to learn new hymns with her piano teacher. (Karstin) Before the opera started last she has continued with sewing lessons and continued to makes new clothing including her Skippy peanut butter costume for Halloween.
Love,
Brace, Karen, Karstin, Savannah and Penelope Lake
