Kärstin Lake has been studying piano since she was five years old. In 2008, she was asked to play in the Honor's recital for Certificate of Merit for all of Orange County. She received a 5+, which is the highest ranking, on her playing a lengthy memorized sonata by Kabalevsky. The comments included the following...

In 2008 and 2009, Kärstin was named the pianist for the Orange County Mormon High School Choir directed by the renown pianists, Brett and Brandon Stewart. She made three appearances at the Orange County Sergerstrom Hall as the Concert Choir accompanist. In 2009, she was the Orange County finalist for the Bartok Statewide Compeition as well as a finalist for the Contemporary Music Festival at Cal State Long Beach. In 2010, Karstin was chosen as one of twelve Classical Piano Performance Majors at Brigham Young University.

Kärstin is a natural teacher and loves to encourage students and see them motivated to succeed. Kärstin is one of the few piano teachers that believes a positive piano experience is the key to motivating a student to make music an important part of his life.
